| Alex Barnes BMus (Hons) LRAM
Alex was born in Manchester in 1984, and lived in Haslingden. He took up the ‘cello aged ten, and won a place at Chetham’s School of Music at the age of thirteen. At the age of 18 he moved to London to pursue his studies at the Royal Academy of Music where he completed his Batchelor of Music degree in July 2006, having received his Licentiate diploma (LRam) in 2005. Alex has been making recordings from an early age, and has acquired a breadth of experience from working with his father, a senior BBC sound engineer, on a wide range of recordings, from solo recitals to symphony orchestras, from location recordings of concerts to studio sessions and live broadcasts. He is also experienced in digital editing and post production techniques, and masters his own red-book audio CDs. ![]() |
